A lamp that lights up when floating, and turns off when resting.

A magnetic sensor creates an on/off switch in mid-air.

Neodymium magnets allow the bulb to float effortlessly without consuming any power.

At the heart of the lamp is a uniquely stylized wooden bulb, providing a warm, soft glow to any space.

What's Included

Each lamp ships with a fitted LED bulb and a 1.8m long 12V power adaptor (UK, US, or EU depending on country of purchase).

The LED bulb can be popped out of the wooden casing to allow it to be replaced with a compatible G4 bulb, each LED bulb typically lasts several years.

Each lamp also comes with a two-year warranty, this is activated automatically 7 working days after your lamp is shipped.

Each lamp is made using FSC certified sustainably sourced birch plywood, and shipped in fully recyclable cardboard packaging... and one rubber band.

The lamps are designed and made in Brighton, UK. Manufacturing locally reduces the carbon footprint of each lamp as it avoids the need to ship the lamps from a foreign manufacturer to a local distribution center. It also means that product quality can be monitored very closely.

Focusing on build quality and avoiding the need for a mechanical switch improves the lifespan of each lamp; switches and buttons are often the first points of failure in many products as these undergo the most wear and tear over the years.

Whilst improving longevity is a great benefit in general, it has also been a core aspect of the design process as a longer-lasting product is naturally more sustainable as it reduces future buying.

Based in a studio in Brighton, UK, Mnuca was born out of a passion for merging technology with natural, sustainable materials. Encouraging playful interactivity was at the core of the design philosophy when developing this lamp, transforming the passive everyday task of turning on a lightbulb into something fun.

Each lamp is crafted from FSC certified sustainably sourced birch plywood, this wood features beautiful flowing patterns in the grain, reminiscent of drizzling Manuka honey, hence the name Mnuca.

In 2021 we successfully raised over £6,000 on Kickstarter, this funded the investment needed for our initial production run of around 100 lamps.
